The Flower Mound Garden Club has placed three bluebird houses around the Bridlewood Amenity Center.  Two houses are located along Bridlewood Blvd and the other is located near the Amenity Center’s basketball court.  The Club, in partnership with the Cavity Nester Conservancy Project, donated the houses to begin establishing a bluebird trail in Bridlewood. 
 

   Bluebirds build nests and raise broods in Texas from February through early    August. Male bluebirds establish a three-to-four-acre territory around a nest box and attract a female with wing flutters and calls. The female approves the nesting site and builds the nest. Once the nest is complete the female will lay one egg per day. The clutch will typically be 3-6 eggs. These eggs are typically blue.  
The Club asks residents/FMGC members to observe activity at the bluebird houses from a distance and to not disturb the nesting process.
